The State Level Shelter Monitoring Committee to monitor the progress of the Scheme of Shelters for Urban Homelessunder the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Govt. of Goa, has appointed the El Shaddai Charitable Trust a registered NGO based in Goa which is catering to the needs of children & women across Goa for housing the identified urban homeless. Accordingly, the MOU was executed between GSULM and NGO, El Shaddai to provide accommodation facilities in their shelter homes as per the Scheme of Shelters for Urban Homeless.
The GSUDA has refurbished a part of the IPA Provedoria Asylum in Margao and made provision for 8 beds with toilet facility for housing the urban homeless males. The IPA, Provedoria will provide meals to the inmates and the premises are handed over to Margao Municipal Council for operation which will be runby The NGO, El Shaddai Charitable Trust.
